A Watermark Year
With the participation of 20 classic vessels, 12 classic cars, and 2 classic dinghy we had a sporting sail and another fun gathering on the Corinthian deck of the SFYC club celebrating with colleagues and friends with food, drink, and music.
Our Sponsors
As a community of people dedicated to the preservation of these classic yachts and the tradition of sailing on the San Francisco Bay, we are lucky to have the support of key friends and partners.

Aside from a good crew, perhaps one of Seaward’s secrets to winning was the use of her fisherman, as shown above, flying during the 2017 Master Mariners Race. © 2024 John 'Woody' Skoriak
SCOOTIN' SCHOONERS: The schooner Wiletie (left) makes the turn to chase Call of the Sea’s Seaward, raced by San Francisco Yacht Club members Alan Olson and Michael Seaman, who ultimately took first place in the Schooner division of the club’s annual Great SF Schooner Race and Belvedere Classic Regatta on Aug. 10 off Angel Island, just outside Belvedere Cove. Some 20 wooden and classic boats took part in the race, including longtime race organizer John Swain of Belvedere, who won first place in the Spirit of Tradition class aboard the Sapphire, skippered by Michael Chammout. Independent sailor Michael Zolezzi took first for Classic Yacht 1 and Bill Claussen of the Master Mariners Benevolent Association won the Classic Yacht 2 division. (Ted McDonnell / For The Ark) 36w
