Alpha
History
Alpha was built in 1967 by Stephens Marine in Stockton.
She is a Sparkman Stephens design - Nick Raggio is her 5th owner. She is the first Aluminum sailboat built by Stephens Marine, thus the name Alpha. Lou Riggs was her second owner - he now lives in Arizona. Her sister Boat is Bohemia and her owner was Peter Saltz. Both people were members of SFYC which was her first home port in the Bay - at one time Alpha and Bohemia were side by side in our harbor. Theo Stephens owned the boat for 5-years before Lou brought her to SFYC.
She has teak decks, toe rails and dog house, is powered by a 4 cylinder Perkins, and has very little weather helm.
